Insights: The Kambata area, comprised of 100 different clans and groups, is one of the most populated places in all of Africa where coffee is the largest cash crop they produce. Ethiopian coffee was traditionally dry processed, but wet processing is increasingly becoming more common since it highlights the delicate and floral notes for which the country’s coffee is known. The implementation of this technique by the Kambata people in some of their coffees has helped them raise the interest in their coffee worldwide which is starting to give them a much more steady income to keep growing and improving their farms.
